This course is designed to boost your confidence working in an educational setting. It is not intended to develop secretarial skills; we assume that you have these already. It is, instead, designed to enable you to apply your skills to the school environment.

  • Recognise the range of special needs and some of the characteristics of more common conditions.
  • Recognise the link between pupils’ behaviour and the promotion of learning.
  • Identify the values that are shared in teamwork.
  • State the meaning of some relevant acronyms and abbreviations.
  • Be aware of the educational websites that are particularly relevant to your role and the work of the school.
