  classroom management for cover supervisors

A one-day seminar for Cover Supervisors that explores some of the significant issues associated with the role. The day will have five main themes:

The basic requirements to be effective

We will go through the minimum list of things that you need to be able to do the job effectively and what to do when you don’t get them.

Classroom Organisation

We explore how you can manage the classroom activities and the resources associated with the task. We’ll look at what to do when it doesn’t happen as you expected.

Behaviour Management

We provide the outline of sessions where behaviour is well managed. We’ll look at a few tips that can help and look at the things that make a difference to behaviour. We explore ways of dealing with difficult situations and pupils.

The impact of different types of Special Needs

Some children will behave differently due to their special needs. We will look at the sort of behaviours that may arise in the classroom.

Filling the gaps

There is often less to do than there should be and we will look at ways to fill the inevitable gaps with worthwhile and meaningful tasks that promote learning at all ages.
