National Inspections
interview technique and critique

An interview can be viewed as a scary prospect. It can also be seen as the gateway to the next stage of your career. We want to swap the fear for the opportunity. Concentrating on the positive helps to build confidence and, having confidence, will enable you to be yourself under pressure. The interviewer wants to fill a gap in their team. You may or may not be the person they need but you can show them who you are.

The course is structured around three main ideas:

The way you look. Our in-house stylist, who has extensive experience of working in high-pressure commercial environments, will give you valuable tips on what to wear and how to make a good visual impression. Looking good and feeling good are both important ingredients to being able to relax and present yourself. When you look good, it helps you feel good.

The way you present. When you are talking and listening, the way you hold yourself gives your interviewer valuable information. How you move and how you sit are as important as the words you say. The way you move, the way you sit and even the movement of your eyes will tell a story. We can show you what others will read in your story. We can analyse what it says about you.

The way you answer. You could face some really awkward questions and finding the truthful answer that emphasises your strengths is important. We can show you how to construct the answer to each one and also provide you with ways to perform under pressure. Every interview will have the question that you were not expecting and we can even prepare you for that.

In our professional careers, many of us face very few interviews and we can feel very vulnerable as a result. Performing well in an interview is a skill. It is a skill that can be learnt and practiced. We can’t guarantee that this course will deliver the job. We can promise that you will be in a much better position to leave your interviewers with a very clear idea of who you are and what you have to offer.

This is  one-day course and runs from ten to four. Tea and coffee will be available at the venue and we will identify options for a snack or meal that are available in the venue or nearby during the break in the middle of the day.

A place on the course cost £80 plus VAT. Group sizes will be kept small to ensure that you are fully involved and that you receive the support that you most need.
