National Inspections has always had a keen interest in the role of the assistant both in and out of the classroom. The role has changed significantly and will continue to change in the future. Assistants make a significant contribution to children's' learning but there is frequently little training available. We have been offering training since 1996 and we have taken the evolutionary trail with you.

Our training focuses on good practice observed in classrooms. We have collected together all the things that you need to be effective in your role and then built our training around them. We also recognise that life-styles will vary and the training has to match the time you have available and the place where you wish to train.

We have devised three routes; face-to-face training sessions where you come to us for a day, distance learning packages for those who prefer to work away from school and it odd times they are available as well as the online training for those who prefer to train in cyberspace. Whatever your choice, we are there for you.

Do check out the sections on special needs and behaviour management as these courses are as suitable to an assistant as they are to a teacher.

We have even added 'Plan B', a section of fun games to play with children in those odd moments that need filling with something of value during the day.
